Young plane passenger gives his first-class seat to an 88-year-old woman on a Virgin Atlantic flight

A Virgin Atlantic flight attendant, Leah Any has shared a heartwarming story of how a young plane passenger helped make an elderly woman’s dreams come true by giving her his first-class seat.

Jack, a young British man struck up an unlikely friendship with an 88-year-old retired nurse named Violet in a New York airport earlier this month.

Violet was traveling to see her daughter in London and was booked into economy, while Jack was flying back to the British capital in first class.

However, once they boarded the same plane, Jack found Violet and swapped their seats so that she could experience the comforts of first class.

Leah Amy, who works for Virgin Atlantic, took to Facebook last Tuesday to recount the story and to upload a series of happy snaps of the 88-year-old’s unforgettable journey from New York to London.

She shared a series of adorable snaps that showed Violet luxuriating in the comforts of first class on the seven hour flight.

She said, “You should have seen her face, when I tucked her in her bed after supper. She said her daughter won’t believe her, and wanted a ‘selfie’ to prove it, but didn’t have a phone or an email address. These photos are getting sent in the post tomorrow, can you even cope?”

Amy’s post immediately went viral, with many Facebook users blown away by Jack’s selfless act of kindness.
