Six hundred residents of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, Lagos have benefitted from an empowerment and skill acquisition training programme.
The programme was jointly orgainsed by the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, United Nations Development (UNDP) and Yield Africa
The participants were trained in various empowerment exercise including; photography, tie and dye, screen printing, bag making, household chemical production, catering services amongst others.
UNDP Coordinator at Oshodi-Isolo Azeez Adesanya said the training was to alleviate poverty and reduce unemployment rate.
He said: “The task of getting the youths off the streets is not an easy task but with the support of socially responsible organisations and individuals, the goal can be achievable”
He urged all graduands to source for capital to kickstart their entrepreneurship career and not wait on anyone.
