Terrorists threaten to kill kidnapped victims from train attack

In new viral audio on social media, the terrorists responsible for the Abuja-Kaduna train attack have threatened to slaughter the remaining 50 hostages.

They had earlier made a similar threat before the intervention of a Kaduna-based politician and media consultant to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Malam Tukur Mamu who pleaded with the abductors for a ceasefire.

In the latest audio in circulation, which is believed to be the voice of one of the group members, they threatened to slaughter the victims because the government failed to seek their release.

Mamu, confirmed the audio to a journalist in Kaduna Wednesday, saying that the audio was real and that the group had fixed Wednesday (today) to carry out the threat.

According to him, they became provoked on Monday after giving us another opportunity.

“I was crying and pleading with them that since there is a delay from the government, they should discuss with the family members directly to negotiate the victims’ release.

“Based on the plea, they agreed to negotiate directly with the victims’ families. But they said they are giving us till Wednesday, that if there was nothing concrete from those that are interested in the negotiation, they will start slaughtering some of the victims,” he said.

This is as families, relatives, and friends of the victims took to the streets of Kaduna in protest, demanding immediate rescue of the remaining 50 of their loved ones after 100 days in captivity yesterday.
