SUBEB Chairman: We will make sure no child is left behind in Lagos

Newly appointed Executive Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King has promised that every child who has attained school age will have access to quality education in Lagos.

In a welcome parley organised for him and other members of the new Board of the Agency, Alawiye-King stated tthat Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is very passionate about education and called for a collaboration of all stakeholders to achieve the required success in the educational sector.

He said, “We must join hands to make Lagos education a better place as we will leave no child behind in the access to quality education. I, therefore, seek the support and cooperation of all stakeholders in this laudable goal for the benefit and future of our children”.

On his part, Mr. Temidayo Israel, a member of the newly inaugurated Board, stated that its mandate is to make public schools more efficient using 21st-century innovations to educate pupils at the basic level, assuring that “Every child that is old enough to attend school must get education and not just any education but quality education”.

Other members of the Board, Mr. Adebayo Adefuye; Mrs. Amidat Sijuade Idowu-Taylor; Mr. Shittu Hakeem Babatunde; Mr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle and Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni spoke in the same vein.

Board Secretary of SUBEB, Mrs. Kehinde Ajimoti, in her welcome remark, commended the appointment of the new Executive Chairman and other Board members and pledged for the support of all members of staff, Education Secretaries, Nigerian Union of Teachers(NUT), Association of Primary School Heads of Nigeria (AOPSHON) and other stakeholders to Board members and wished them a successful tenure.
