Former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mohammed Dauda, is under investigation by security agencies for allegedly leaking secret files of the agency to the media and groups.
The ex-NIA chief is also under questioning in connection with some petitions allegedly sabotaging the agency and attempting to implicate some of its directors.
According to claims, some of the leaks were aimed at stopping the reappointment of the present NIA DG, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
There were also indications pointing to the possible extradition of the ex-NIA boss because some of the leaks traced to him fell into the hands of foreign intelligence agencies.
Dauda has relocated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on self-exile pending the resolution of his case in court.
