Saudi Arabia extends deadline for Nigerian pilgrims

Intending pilgrims from Nigeria who are yet to be airlifted have received consideration from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA) extended the deadline for the closure of the airspace to July 7.

This, as it has been learned, followed a high-level discussion between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

The Nigerian team was allegedly led by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

There are about 3,000 Nigerian pilgrims yet to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

While Max Air and Azman airlines will continue airlifting operations, the commission has concluded arrangements with Flynas to operate three rescue flights for pilgrims in Kano and Abuja.
