Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has challenged the Southeast region to resist the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) before it does more harm to the region.
He warned that the region’s economy will suffer if the activities of IPOB are not met with resistance.
“We must rise to say no to this evil plan to destroy our economy and destroy our people,” Umahi, Southeast Governors Forum Chairman, said.
He spoke as most parts of the region were deserted again yesterday despite the suspension of a sit-at-home directive by IPOB.
IPOB had announced the sit-at-home to protest the arrest and detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is on trial over terrorism charges.
