Managing Director of Naebi Dynamic Concepts Limited, Stanley Chike, says the collection of helicopter landing charges in the country will begin next week Monday, May 9.
Naebi Ltd is the concessionaire empowered by the Federal Government to collect helicopter landing charges as well as carry out the monitoring and surveillance of helicopter movements in the country.
Chike, while confirming the move, said stakeholders in the sub-sector had been briefed on the concessionaire’s mandate and informed of the planned collection of landing fees.
He further said the decision was reached with Helicopter Services Operators in Nigeria at a meeting at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
In a statement in Abuja, Chike said: “90 days’ notice was given after inauguration by the representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Minister of Aviation on the 4th of February 2022, and collection starts by the 9th of May 2022
“We are building a state-of-the-art control room to monitor all helicopter movements and give this information to the government promptly.
“Gone are the days when unauthorized and illegal movements of helicopters will go unnoticed.”
