Osinbajo, others working to tackle APC’s ‘legal ditch’

Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is presently working with other cabinet members who are lawyers to save the ruling All Progressive Congress from a potential legal crisis, Checkout Magazine learnt.

It was gathered that some senior party figures who are legal practitioners have been working alongside the Vice President, Festus Keyamo (SAN), and former legal adviser Babatunde Ogala (SAN).

Justices Mary Odili, Ejembi Eko and Mohammed Saulawa had last week ruled that caretaker chair Mai Mala Buni cannot be governor and party leader at the same time.

The Nation reports that the VP cautioned the party against what he termed “legal ditch.”

The Nation quoted the anonymous source to have said: “The VP is of the firm view that the Supreme Court judgment is a clear legal ditch which is best avoided.

“And he wants to ensure that the interest of the party is what is paramount, hoping that all stakeholders would eventually find a way out in the interest of Nigerians who have reposed so much confidence is in the ruling party.”
