A report reaching us at Checkout Magazine has it that violence disrupted the Local Government electoral process in Ekiti State leading to the death of an individual and others injured.
Tribune Online reported that alleged political thugs invaded one of the units in Araromi area of Ikere-Ekiti in Ikere Local Government area, shooting sporadically to snatch ballot boxes.
A witness of the occurrence told Tribune Online, “Someone was killed when the thugs were shooting. Some people tried to resist them from disrupting the free flow of the election and that was why they shot the person dead and left others injured.”
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Sunday Abutu, was yet to issue an official statement on the alleged violence as at press time.
