Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has not decided on which presidential candidate to support in 2023.
This was revealed yesterday by the organization’s Vice President, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene.
He said the body was not divided over the 2023 poll as speculated.
According to him, the organization’s position would be made known in due course after further consultations.
Okeke-Ogene noted that other regional organizations, such as Afenifere, the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), and the Middle Belt Forum appear to have endorsed Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi.
The Ohanaeze leader said they, as non-political organizations, were looking for someone with the interest of Nigeria at heart and who would be acceptable to all irrespective of party affiliation.
He said: “What Ohanaeze is looking at is a good candidate from the leading political parties to get behind.
“What Ndigbo wanted was a candidate from the Southeast from the two leading political parties, but during their primaries, they failed us by not giving us any,” he said.
