The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Maj Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim says the NYSC’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) should be introduced into the school curriculum.
Ibrahim said this would expose students to vocational skills before they graduate.
He said this when the management of Federal University Lokoja visited the NYSC headquarters to congratulate the DG on his recent elevation to the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.
The DG informed his guests that the NYSC has partnered with many institutions like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Bank of Industry (BoI) Access Bank, Heritage Bank, Leventis Foundation, and other agricultural institutions like the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) and Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) towards the training and empowerment of Corps members that have passion for agriculture.
Ibrahim further said efforts are in top gear for the establishment of the NYSC Trust Fund which will make funds available to corps members to start their businesses as they exit service.
