NYSC Charges Staff to Fight Corruption

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has charged its staff to strengthen the fight against corruption by conforming to ethical standards.

The Director-General, Bridg. Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim made the call at the induction and training of members of the NYSC Anti-corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) Sub-Units for Area Offices as well as State and FCT Secretariat by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

The DG said the inauguration was a follow-up to the anti-corruption and transparency unit of the NYSC inaugurated in September 2021.

The director-general said: “We rely on you for the promotion of diligence at work, fairness, and sincerity, in line with the standard set by the commission.

“You must always be conscious of the fact that our major responsibility as an organization is to groom Nigerian graduate youths to be patriotic, disciplined, and responsible as well as to promote national unity and development.

“For this singular reason, I expect that the attitude of staff to work and general conduct should conform to ethical standards in all ramifications reflecting honesty, loyalty, integrity, and commitment.”

He, therefore, enjoined the ACTU Sub-units to be above board in complementing the efforts of the main unit at the headquarters.
