North owes Tinubu his presidential aspiration – Northern Group

The Northern Region Supports Tinubu 2023, has said All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, should not have any problem in getting northern bloc votes in 2023.

The group said after the leading role Tinubu played in making Muhammadu Buhari the President of Nigeria, the north owes him their votes in 2023.

They are emphatic that the North owes it as a duty to ensure that Asiwaju Tinubu becomes the next President.

It said the former Lagos State governor did it for Buhari and the North in 2015 and 2019, adding that the time has come for the region to reciprocate the good gesture.

The group’s National Coordinator Dahiru Hammandikko addressed reporters yesterday in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on the position of the organisation.

He said: “In 2015, without Asiwaju Tinubu, Buhari would not have become President. We all know this. Buhari had contested the previous three elections and lost. But when those legacy parties came together, including Asiwaju Tinubu’s Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), with Asiwaju Tinubu rallying the entire Southwest behind Buhari, the general was elected for the first time in 2015 and again in 2019, with the same Asiwaju Tinubu leading the process.”

The national coordinator said the former beneficiaries of Asiwaju Tinubu’s political machines are northerners, testifying to the fact that the former Lagos State governor is a detribalised Nigerian who supports credible citizens without considering where they come from.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is the type that when you come to him with focus and determination, he helps you,” Hammandikko said.

The national coordinator said he was canvassing for the APC National Leader because when he was Lagos State governor, he proved that he would make a positive impact if he becomes President.

“As governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Tinubu picked people from other states and made them commissioners,” Hammandikko said.

He added that Nigeria would be much better with Asiwaju Tinubu as President.
