Nigerian players resume club action following international break

Nigerian players across the top leagues are set to return to club action this weekend following the October international break.

In the English Premier League, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey are guaranteed starters for Fulham when they host Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Nigerian duo will be looking to build on their recent form, having helped Fulham secure a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in their last outing.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi will hope to continue his impressive run for Leicester City as they travel to face Southampton. Ndidi has been in fine form this season, providing four assists to sit third on the EPL assists charts.

In Spain’s La Liga, Umar Sadiq will be aiming to get more playing time when Real Sociedad visit Girona.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke could be involved as Sevilla take on Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic on Sunday.

In Italy, Samuel Chukwueze has returned to training with AC Milan ahead of their clash with Udinese.

Ademola Lookman will lead the line for Atalanta as they visit Venezia. The forward has already notched three goals and three assists this season and will be crucial to Atalanta’s hopes of securing a European spot.

In the Bundesliga, Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella could feature for Bayer Leverkusen against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frank Onyeka is expected to be in action for Augsburg as they face Freiburg.

In France’s Ligue 1, Moses Simon and Nantes will host Nice on Sunday. The winger will be hoping to inspire his team to their first win in five matches, as Nantes look to climb away from the lower half of the table.

In Saudi Arabia, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong is set to feature for Al Kholood against Al Fateh.
