Man thanks Lagos govt for treating him – COVID-19 survivor

A foreign national who received treatment from the Lagos State government for testing positive to the coronavirus disease has expressed his appreciation.

The man was quarantined at the Lagos Mainland Hospital, an infectious disease facility in Yaba, Lagos, alongside other persons who had also tested positive to the virus.

In a video tweeted by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, via his verified Twitter handle @ProfAkinAbayomi on Wednesday, the foreigner said being diagnosed with the contagion is not a death sentence.

According to him, “COVID-19 infection is not death sentence but just a waiting game.”

Lagos currently leads Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases with 82 infections.

However, although Nigeria recorded 12 new cases on Wednesday, for the first time since the index case on February 27, Lagos did not have a case.

So far, Lagos has discharged eight carriers of the virus, with no death recorded in the state so far.
