A Court sitting in judgement in the United Kingdom has sentenced a notorious credit card fraudster to a two years and six months imprisonment.
Christopher Mambi, 22, was arrested and arraigned after running up huge meal and champagne bills at a City hotel during a two-month £110,000 spending spree.
Prior to his arrest, Mambi treated himself and friends to designer clothes, gifts, food and drink as he splashed cash around London on cards he obtained by providing banks with false names and addresses.
Police reports that following a search of his home, counterfeit bank cards, a mobile phone and several passports.
Luxury items were also found.
Mambi pleaded guilty to 22 counts of fraud and was jailed for two years and six months last week.
Detective Sergeant Ben Hobbs, of the police’s Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit, said: “This criminal thought he could get away with committing £110,000 of fraud by using fraudulent bank cards and identity documents.
“Fortunately, we were able to track down Mr Mambi and bring him to justice.
