Lagos State Governor can preserve the ideal of June 12 by continuing to deliver the dividends of democracy, National Convener Women for Change Initiatives (WCI), Eyitope Success-Adekunle, has said.
She commended the genuine effort of the state government to improve the living conditions of Lagos residents.
The activist-lawyer, who spoke in Lagos at an event to mark June 12, said except for a few people like Sanwo-Olu, there had been an unrelenting effort by the elite and military men in civilian uniform to wish away the gains of June 12.
She urged the governor to do more in human capital development and infrastructure.
Success-Adekunle noted that the unemployment rate of 35 per cent and life expectancy of fewer than 52 years are not acceptable indices.
“Nigerians today live in a country where seeking education by going to school has become a sin because of the activities of bandits and kidnappers who kidnap for ransom!” she said.
