Lagos rewards workers with cars, return tickets to Dubai

The Lagos State government has given brand new cars and a return ticket to Dubai to 10 civil servants in the state for their outstanding service.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State said this at the Special Luncheon with the Year 2022 Outstanding Public Servants in the state.

The luncheon was held in commemoration of this year’s Lagos State Public Service Week Celebration at Victoria Island, Lagos.

The governor, while congratulating the 190 awardees in the senior and junior categories for distinguishing themselves, said the state government would continue to give priority to the need of civil servants in the state, as well as improve its capacity to meet the expectations of Lagosians.

He said, “Today, we celebrate the grand finale of our annual Public Service Week, which brings to the fore the critical role played by the Public Service as the engine room of government, and principal facilitators in the delivery of good governance.

“This year’s theme: ‘Building back better from COVID-19: Enhancing Innovative Partnerships to meet the Sustainable Development Goals, is very apt, reflecting the fact that we have spent the last two and half years under the shadow of a pandemic, but even more importantly, pointing hopefully at a stronger and more resilient future.”

He also restated his administration’s commitment to ensuring incentives were provided to motivate outstanding performances in the civil service as the state is geared to unveil its 30-year Developmental plan while urging the awardees to continue to work hard.
