Information reaching Checkout Magazine has it that the Federal Government’s arrest of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has left the secessionist group in disarray.
Checkout Magazine learnt that members of the groups and its militant wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) have gone into hiding while some of ESN’s camps have been dismantled.
According to The Nation, members of the ESN have abandoned their camps at Orlu, Orsu, Aboh Mbaise and Ikeduru local government areas all in Imo State.
Many of them have gone underground, although some said they would return stronger and that the arrest of Kanu would not stop IPOB from pressing on with its agitation for the creation of Biafra Republic.
Recall that Checkout Magazine reported the rearrest and repatriation of Nnamdi Kanu.
The embattled secessionist who is facing an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism and illegal possession of firearms, among others, jumped bail in 2017 and left the country.
