Ms Monica Osagie, a former student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, who was involved in a sex for grades scandal has said she was rejected at a job interview because of the incident.
Recall that Osagie, a postgraduate student at the institution in 2018, leaked an audio conversation between her and the lecturer, Professor Richard Akindele, where the latter requested for sex in exchange for marks.
Akindele was subsequently sacked and jailed.
AWP Network, a pro-African women organisation, shared Osagie’s experience on Twitter on Friday.
AWP Network wrote: “Monica Osagie, the BOLD young woman who recorded her abuser, Obafemi Awolowo University Professor, Richard Akindele, says,
“The last job interview I went for the guy asked if I was “the Monica Osagie” and the next thing he said was sorry ma, we don’t need a whistle-blower!”
