24-year-old female prison officer, Savannah Dean has been caught sending highly sexualized messages to an inmate in her care at the Parc Prison in Bridgend, South Wales.
At the hearing in Cardiff Crown Court, she admiited having the sex chat with the convict, Michael Wheeler, 25, who was jailed for causing death by dangerous driving.
The court heard their messages contained references to kissing and discussing what else they wanted to do, and also retrieved notes, cards, and photographs from Dean in Wheeler’s cell.
Prosecutors said Wheeler made 29 calls to “Alex” –a false name Savannah Dean was using between January 24 and February 4 this year.
Dean, from Swansea, pleaded guilty of the accusation and got a suspended sentence at Cardiff crown court chaired by Judge Michael Fitton who described the misconduct as an act that can “undermine public confidence in the prison system.”
However, there was no evidence of a sexual relationship.
