Former Wimbledon striker, John Fashanu, has touted Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for a big move to Old Trafford following latest reports that Manchester United are keen on signing him in January.
Reports have linked the Leceister City players with a move to Old Trafford as the Red Devils struggle for form with Brazilian Fred and Nemanja Matic failing to impress.
Recent reports suggest United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be after the Nigerian in the January transfer window as he plans to reinforce the squad.,
Fashanu told PUNCH that United’s keen interest in the Nigerian is a sign that the 24-year-old had what it took to play for the Red Devils.
He said, “United have watched him (Ndidi) for years and people need to know that they are one of the best and the richest clubs in the world. They can buy whoever they want instantly, the fact that they’ve been watching him for two seasons means he wasn’t ready to make the big step at the Old Trafford back then.
“Now that they are going for him, it shows that they are convinced that he is ready to make the big move. They now believe in him and are ready to give him a chance.”
