United States President, Donald Trump as hailed the emergence of Boris Johnson as the new British Prime Minister, congratulating his landslide victory in the Tory leadership race.
Trump called Johnson the ‘ British Trump’ and further backed him to get the Brexit job done
The US President said Mr Johnson, who will take over as Prime Minister on Wednesday, was a “really good man” as he praised the new Conservative figurehead.
“We have a really good man is going to be the Prime Minister of the UK now.
“Boris Johnson. Good man, he’s tough and he’s smart,” Mr Trump said at a conservative teen student summit.
The US leader then went on to liken Mr Johnson to himself and said: “They’re saying Britain Trump. They call him Britain Trump. And people are saying that’s a good thing.
“They like me over there. That’s what they wanted. That’s what they need. It’s what they need.
“He’ll get it done, Boris is good, he’s going to do a good job.”

Trump had taken to Twitter to congratulate Mr Johnson and said: “Congratulations to Boris Johnson on becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He will be great!”
