Adedeji Adeleke, father of popular Afrobeat artist Davido, has donated N1 billion to the Centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church in Lagos.
The donation was announced during a thanksgiving service in memory of his late mother, Esther Adeleke, a revered figure in the C&S Church.
“On behalf of our late mother, senior mother in Israel, Mrs Esther Adeleke, we want to contribute to the endowment fund, Centenary Endowment Fund. We are contributing the sum of N1 billion,” he said.
Deputy Baba Aladura Harold Demuren praised the Adeleke family for their kindness and dedication to serving humanity.
“The Adeleke family and their members are rare gems. They serve the lord and humanity in humility and consistency,” he said.
The donation comes as the C&S Church prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025, founded by Pa Moses Orimolade Tunolase.
