Crowd welcomes Tinubu to Lagos

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned home yesterday to a rousing reception eleven days after clinching the party’s presidential ticket in Abuja.

He arrived at about 3.40 pm to the warm embrace of a huge crowd of party faithful, supporters, and well-wishers.

The people lined the streets from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja to the Iga Idunganran Palace of Lagos monarch, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu.

Members of Tinubu’s entourage included Governors Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), and former governors Kashim Shettima (Borno), and Adams Oshiomhole (Edo).

Also with them were Senator Tokunbo Abiru (Lagos East), and House of Representatives member James Faleke, among others.

They were received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, former Minister of State for Defence Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, former Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Idiat Adebule, Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, and some members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), among others.

Alighting from the plane, Tinubu waved his broom at the supporters who had waited patiently for hours. He was ushered into a waiting bus.

Tinubu appreciated the people for the warm welcome. He specially thanked the party chieftains for believing in him and supporting his dream.
