Luck ran out on a certain Blessing Adedeji, an alleged member of a robbery gang, after the Ogun State Police Command arrested her while trying to rob commuters on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, it was stated that the suspect was sighted by the policemen in the gridlock while attacking the occupants of a Toyota Camry car with knife.
Oyeyemi added that the suspect had succeeded in dispossessing one Monsurat Ologundudu of her Techno Camon-12 phone valued at N48,000 and purse containing cash sum of N3,000.
The statement further explained that the suspect took to his heels on sighting the policemen, but he was chased and apprehended.
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, CP Keneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Special Anti Robbery Squad for discreet investigation.
He further assured commuters of the states resolve towards ensuring their safety
