Residents of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State benefited from a three-day medical outreach organised by the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf.
The programme, an initiative of the commissioner’s pet project-Moremi Goodwill Project in conjuction with Musaroq Nigeria Limited was held at the open field off Ipaja-Command road.
The programme was also sponsored by notable pharmaceutical companies including CECY Health, Santos Pharmaceuticals, Emzor Pharmaceuticals and May and Baker and Tolaram Group.
Participants were given free eye, dental, medical examination, drugs, eye glasses, mosquito nets and hygiene packs at the event.
In her keynote address, Akinbile-Yussuf encouraged residents to be deliberate about taking care of their health and personal hygiene, warning that those who care less about their health risked unforeseen danger.
She said: “Early diagnosis will save people from untimely deaths; hence, it’s important for people to always take care of their health on time through adequate checkups.
” We have brought a number of experts and medical consultants to this programme so that participants can have direct interaction with doctors and other medical professionals on some of their health challenges with a view to get the right advice and solutions to such problems.”
