President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has confirmed that he and his wife, Melania have tested positive for coronavirus.
This comes a week after Trump told Americans not to worry about Covid-19 because “it affects virtually nobody” except the elderly and those with heart conditions.
The President announced this via his official Twitter handle on Friday morning
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted shortly on Friday.
Mr Trump has mostly spurned mask-wearing and has often been pictured not socially distanced with aides or others during official engagements.
