Bishops approve Sanwo-Olu for second term

The Methodist Church Nigeria Bishops have approved Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the second term in office.

The clerics hailed Sanwo-Olu’s administration for good governance and service to humanity and said Lagosians should grant Sanwo-Olu a second term so he can complete enviable projects he started and others in the pipeline.

The bishops endorsed the governor’s re-election at the opening of the church’s 39th Bishops’ Council at the Methodist Church of the Trinity at Tinubu in Lagos.

Methodist Prelate Dr. Samuel Uche said: “You are among the best in governance we have in Nigeria. For this reason, I urge that you be allowed to go for a second term in office to complete the enviable projects you started, and others in the pipeline. Bishops in Lagos will mobilize our members, our votes must go to Sanwo-Olu.

“Though I am not a card-carrying member of any political party, neither am I partisan, yet I value people for who they are and not their political affiliation. I believe people like you are the ones we should replicate all over the world.

“The Bishops’ Council will pray for you and other government functionaries so we continue to have a very progressive and development-oriented Lagos.”

They also urged the Federal Government to address hunger, inflation, and insecurity, saying no nation can prosper amid challenges.
