Host Nigeria will take on Morocco in the opening game of the inaugural edition of Aisha Buhari Cup 2021 on September 13 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.
The organiser confirmed this at the draw held yesterday in Lagos.
Nigeria, Morocco, and Mali were drawn in group A while Cameroon will play alongside Ghana and South Africa in group B in the six-nation invitational tournament.
The Director of Organisation for the competition, Aisha Falode, who conducted the draw, said the matches would be played at two venues; Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos, and Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Falode said that the tournament would be on a knockout basis; with the two top teams in each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Falode said FIFA President Gianni Infantino; FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura and CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe would be the special guests at the final on September 21 at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.
