1,000 Lagosians participate in free health programme

No fewer than 1,000 Lagos residents are beneficiaries of the Biodun Coker Foundation free health programme.

The initiator of the programme, Biodun Coker was recently honoured with an award, ‘The Icon Ambassador of Eko Social Health Alliance (EkoSHA)’ for his tremendous support towards promoting the Ilera-Eko Health Scheme.

Speaking to our correspondent, he said the free health scheme was organised as part of the Biodun Coker Foundation’s commitment to improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations.

He stated that the aim is to provide 1,000 vulnerable residents of Lagos Island with free Jara Ilera Eko HMO policies, ensuring they have access to quality healthcare services.

“By addressing the healthcare needs of these individuals, we are contributing to a healthier community and reducing the financial barriers that often prevent people from seeking medical attention when needed.”

He stated that that initiative is a key step towards promoting health equity and supporting the well-being of the underserved in our society.

He also disclosed that the foundation would be responsible for the cost of the Jara Ilera Eko HMO policies.
