Vice-President Kashim Shettima has promised citizens new strategies by the federal government to check the security challenges in parts of the country.
He emerged from a closed door meeting with former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State yesterday before making the statement.
Shettima ,who was accompanied by a powerful delegation of ministers and the immediate past governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, told reporters that the federal government planned to deploy new strategies to deal with such security challenges like armed banditry, kidnapping and others.
Government, according to him, would spare no resources and expertise to ensure restoration of security of life and property in all parts of the country.
He said, “We felt duty-bound to come and identify with him (Buhari), and also to commiserate with the Governor and people of Katsina over the sad incident which led to the loss of lives in the past couple of days and reassure them of the federal government’s determination and to convey the best wishes of President Bola Tinubu to his excellency President Muhammadu Buhari and to further reassure them that the government will leave no stone unturned, will expend whatever resources that are needed to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens.”
He vowed that the Tinubu administration was on course to fulfill its campaign promises to Nigerians regardless of the current economic crisis.
He called for the continued support of all Nigerians for the government.
