MC Oluomo: Alleged bid to emerge Oba of Oshodi rejected

An outburst of emotions has followed the supposed move by the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo to become the ‘Oba of Oshodi’.

His eligibility to the high throne has become a subject of discussion on various social media platforms.

However, Checkout Magazine has learned that MC Oluomo is an Awori from Oshodi. He is also an indigene of the town whose grand-uncle Seidu Akinsanya, was a Baale of Oshodi.

It was equally gathered that MC Oluomo has been championing the struggle to upgrade the chieftaincy in Oshodi from Baaleship to Obaship for over a decade.

The royal family of Olushi Onigbesa in a statement has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to stop MC Oluomo from becoming king.

The head of the royal family, Kabiru Eyantan, said that if urgent action is not taken, it “may cause bloodshed” in Oshodi community.

MC Oluomo is yet to officially react as of the time of the report, but the media would be briefed over the issue on Sunday.
