The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday unveiled Air Peace as the Official Airline Sponsor of Nigerian National Teams.
The governing body of football in Nigeria signed a sponsorship contract for one-year, renewable for four years and worth N200 Million with separate Value-In-Kind in the worth of N100million.
Speaking at a briefing at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja in Lagos, NFF President Amaju Pinnick said the airline was chosen because of its pedigree in fleet size, nationalistic fervour and operational capacity in transporting Nigerians and other nationals across the globe.
Describing the deal as historic, Pinnick said the NFF associated with Air Peace because it has become an indigenous brand synonymous with unity, humanity and nationalism.
He said: ” With the two brands – Air Peace and NFF -coming together , this partnership will protect and project the national team. This is the beginning of breaking new grounds for sports in Nigeria.”
Also speaking at the event, Chairman Air Peace, Allen Onyema, said the carrier is excited to partner with the NFF, describing it as a unique opportunity to be associated with the Super Eagles, who are superstars and Nigeria’s ambassadors.
He said the carrier has long been involved in sports sponsorship affirming that despite the ethnic and religious divisions in the country , sports is among the activities that reignites hope in the country.
