The Federal Government has made arrangements to commence the rehabilitation of the failed portions of Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta federal highway.
This followed the intervention by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola confirmed this yesterday during a teleconference between the governor and the minister’s team.
A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, said areas of attention are the failed portions around Sango-Otta on the Lagos- Abeokuta expressway and Otta-Idiroko road.
A team of engineers from the Federal Ministry of Works is expected tomorrow for assessment, preparatory to the commencement of the rehabilitation.
At the meeting called at the instance of Governor Abiodun were the minister, the Managing Director, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Nurudeen Rafindadi; Director of Federal Highway (Construction and Rehabilitation), Folorunso Esan; among others.
Abiodun reassured the citizens that his administration would leave no stone unturned in his commitment to build and upgrade public infrastructure across the state.
