Leicester City defeated Premier League Champions, Manchester City courtesy of a late Kelechi Iheanacho that sealed a 1-0 win in the Community Shield for the Foxes.
Yesterday’s match featured the debut of the Premier League record signing, Jack Grealish who appeared for the losing team.
Iheanacho picked up from where he stopped last season by scoring a penalty against his former club after he fouled by Nathan Ake.
Defeat in the annual curtain raiser to the English top-flight season will matter little to City if they can replicate last term’s superb form, which carried them to Premier League and League Cup glory.
Speaking after Iheanacho said: “We have a great squad and whoever the manager puts in will deliver. We will need everybody through the season, so I’m not disappointed. I just know that if I come in I have to make an impact.”
