Kwara asks for EFCC support over recovery ‘looted’ funds

Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Salman Jawondo on Monday asked the Economic and

Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for assistance in recovering funds and assets allegedly looted by corrupt individuals in the state.

He made this call when he led a delegation of the Ministry of Justice on a visit to the Ilorin office of the commission.

The commissioner said: “We know that the EFCC is a very delicate institution. It needs the support of every agency to survive. The Ministry of Justice is on ground to give you maximum support. We have seen the number of convictions and recoveries made in this office. We are here to identify with you.”

EFCC Zonal Head Kazeem Oseni who received the delegation, appreciated the visit.

He said his office was ready to assist the state government.
