Meet Dayo Adedayo, the change agent with 4 million images to improve Nigeria’s international profile

Passion for what someone loves could drive one to do a whole lot for it,such is the story of a Nigerian ace photographer who has taken more than four million images of the country.

Dayo Adedayo an international renowned photographer who is currently on a “lifetime project” to document Nigeria had said he is using his craft to create a different narrative about the country he loves.

Dayo who commenced his project in 2003, said he has been to all 774 local governments in Nigeria, taking beautiful pictures of the country and has written nine books on Nigeria.

Speaking on why he started his documentary of Nigeria, he said “you Google Nigeria for images and you would hardly find any fantastic image on Nigeria.

“For me I felt it’s like someone studying medicine and seeing someone die and not be able to do anything to to it. So that is way I felt to say…let me use my God given talent to change the narratives of my country and that’s what brought me to the documentation of Nigeria “.

The widely-travelled photographer further said that Nigeria is the most beautiful country in the world, but the world would be oblivious of that if people like him don’t bring out the visuals.

Dayo disclosed that his dream his to cover the whole of West Africa in ten years time
