Presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has picked Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for the 2023 general election.
The party announced this on its official Twitter page yesterday.
“Our VP, Pastor Bishop Isaac Idahosa, from Edo State,” the party tweeted. Idahosa, 57, is the presiding Bishop, God First Ministry, also known as Illumination Assembly, with its headquarters at Lekki Light Centre (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.
The bishop is also a gospel musician with three albums to his credit.
Idahosa grew up in Niger State where he had his formal education, enjoying scholarships up to the university level.
However, the National Vice Chairman (Northwest) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Salihu Lukman, has ruled out Kwankwaso as a threat to the electoral victory of the ruling party in the zone in the 2023 presidential poll.
He dismissed the fear being expressed that Kwankwaso, as the only presidential candidate from the zone, may sweep the majority of the votes from the area at the expense of APC, which is currently in control of the zone.
