Nasarawa State has freed no fewer than 115 inmates following the presidential pardon granted to them by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The state governor, Mr Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Abdulkarim Kana, called on the beneficiaries of the presidential pardon to henceforth enrol in entrepreneurship training and be self reliant to be able to contribute their own quota in nation building.
He said, “This is in line with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential pardon granted to many inmates across the correctional centres in Nigeria.”
Kana handed N5,000 to each of the freed 115 inmates to enable them transport themselves to their various destinations.
He admonished, “Governor Sule urged each and everyone of you to be of good character and utilise the lessons you learnt during your stay in the correctional system to impact the society positively.”
