GHANAIAN PRESIDENT'S MAIDEN VISIT TO THE UK
 
THE NEWLY ELECTED President of Ghana, John Evans Atta-Mills, made his first official visit to the UK in the month of May 2009. In line with the President’s itinerary, an official visit to Gordon Brown, UK’s Prime Minister, was made at which top British cabinet ministers were present.

The Ghanaian President’s visit to the United Kingdom is part of moves aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and the UK with a view to improving the West African country’s economy.

Expectedly, President Mills met with the Ghanaian community in the UK. The venue was Marriot Hotel in the beautiful City of London. In attendance were Ghanaians from virtually all walks of life.

Looking prim and happy, President John Atta Mills seized the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to galvanizing the economy of Ghana. He urged Ghanaians in the UK...
